Happy 119th Birthday Chiropractic!!
In Dr. D. D. Palmer’s words (adapted from “The Chiropractor’s Adjuster” published in 1910):
“Harvey Lillard, a janitor in the Ryan Block, where I had my office, had been so deaf for 17 years that he could not hear the racket of a wagon on the street or the ticking of a watch…An examination showed a vertebra racked from its normal position…I racked it into position by using the spinous process as a lever and soon the man could hear as before.”
He further explains: There was nothing “accidental” about this, as it was accomplished with an object in view, and the result expected was obtained.
Shortly later, Dr. Palmer found a similar displaced vertebra in a patient with heart trouble. Using the same logic as earlier, Dr. Palmer adjusted the vertebra and the patient experienced immediate relief. Once again, nothing “accidental” about the objective or results.
Celebrate by continuing your chiropractic care with your next spinal adjustment.
